Joseph G. DiLorenzo


Joe DiLorenzo is an experienced executive who has held positions of CEO, COO, Chief Strategic Officer and CFO as well as senior consulting roles in several industries, including media, technology, healthcare, sports and entertainment, real estate and financial services.  He has participated in two NYSE IPOs, including professional sports first ever as CFO of the Boston Celtics and six private placement memorandums, multiple credit facilities, and the integration of nine companies acquired in 13 months.  DiLorenzo also applies his experience and extensive, diverse nationwide network primarily with DLA’s New England Practice
Mr. DiLorenzo and former Massachusetts State Treasurer, Joe Malone, co-founded the M/D Group, a firm that specializes in corporate strategy and business development initiatives where he serves as President.  He also was Chief Strategic Officer of Hotbox Sports Ventures ; President/COO of Plymouth Rock Studios ; VP of Strategic Alliances and later CFO of Jenzabar, Inc .; CFO and SVP of Administration of the Boston Celtics ; and a department head for the Boston Garden / Boston Bruins organization. In addition, he was a founding owner of the Maine Red Claws , the National Basketball Association Development League ’s affiliate of the Boston Celtics.
Mr. DiLorenzo graduated from Bentley University with a BS degree in Accountancy.  He serves on the board of the Bentley Executive Club , and served many years as a Director, Officer or President of the Bentley University Alumni Association .
Mr. DiLorenzo has served in many volunteer leadership roles including Chairman of the Board and honorary life-member of the Financial Executives International (FEI) , the world’s largest organization of senior financial executives.  At FEI he also served as initial National Chairman and is a member of the Diversity Committee; member of the Organizational Alignment and Governance Task Force;  Chair of the FEI Hall of Fame Selection Advisory Council; member of the Board of the Financial Executives Research Foundation ; board member FEI Canada ; and President of the FEI Boston Chapter where he still serves on the Membership, Nominating, Partner and Program Committees, respectively.
In addition, he has served as President of the Treasurer's Club of Boston ; two-term President (and current board member) of Community Work Services; a member of Salvation Army ’s Greater Boston Advisory Board , and its Nominating Committee;  former trustee and current member of  the Audit Committee for the Franciscans Children Hospital ; a corporator and member of the Development Committee, the Strategic Planning/Marketing Committee and Board of Visitors of New England Baptist Hospital ; a board member of the Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce ; Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee of the Freedom Trail Foundation ; a mentor with Conexión ; a member of the Board of Overseers, Audit Committee, and Development and Human Resources Committee of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center ;  VP and/or Director of the Downtown North Association ;  Massachusetts Chapter Vice-Chairman of the Newcomin Society of the United States ; a member of the Massachusetts State Committee of “America Goes Back to School” .  
Mr. DiLorenzo has received numerous awards and honors for his community service roles.  These include: the Boston Business Journal's F. Gorham Brigham Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award ; the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Governor's Citation ; the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Senate Citation Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society in Economics - Massachusetts Chapter; the Downtown North Organizational Leadership Award ; the Downtown North Community Leadership Award ; the Franciscan Hospital for Children Certificate of Appreciation ; the Financial Executives International National Chairman's Medal and Honorary Life Member ; and the Kids for Life Biggest Big Kid Award for “Exemplary Dedication to Our Foundation and Contribution to the Enrichment of Children’s Lives”.  He is also founder of "Leadership, Diversity/Inclusion and Personal Growth" , a Linked In Interest Group with over 2,500 followers.
